Advocacy - NCNA
The National Council of Nonprofit Associations is the network of state and regional nonprofit associations serving more than 20,000 member organizations. By linking local nonprofit organizations across the nation through state associations, NCNA helps small and midsize nonprofits manage and lead more effectively, collaborate and exchange solutions, engage in critical policy issues affecting the sector, and achieve greater impact in their communities.
America’s volunteers play a vital role in delivering services to their communities through nonprofits. But a painful quirk in federal tax law, along with high gas prices, have created a barrier that is preventing many volunteers from helping the needy in their communities and causing nonprofits from coast to coast to lose volunteers. Fortunately, a bill was recently introduced to fix this problem: the Giving Incentives to Volunteers Everywhere Act of 2008 (GIVE Act; S.3429). Join NCNA and hundreds of other nonprofits in urging Congress to take action now on this vital issue! Send a letter to your Senators TODAY urging them to co-sponsor The Give Act bill.
